Cry Me A River Official Page Of Nonsense
Hey, So what is CMR about any ways? Like, do you know? I mean, lol, I'd hope you do.
Oh! Well, I mean, it's pretty simple really! (Not at all). CMR is about a girl named Clover Sparks!
Clover Sparks?
Well uh, the story is from Clover's P.O.V, but y'know it's not necessarily about her... It's more about how she influences everyone around her. So the story isn't about her. It's about them.
Part One
"I’m the one telling this story, which is weird because this story’s not about me. Not that I’m not important to the story, I am, it’s just the whole point isn’t really about me. This story’s about a lot of different people, a lot of different things; some things I wasn’t exactly that big a part of. Some things I have no business talking about, but this story needs to be told, and there’s no one left to tell it. No one except me. So I guess it’s on me to write all this down. I’ll be honest though, I don’t know the full story. No one does. So parts of this aren’t entirely true, just me filling in the blanks. And let me tell you, there’s an awful lot of blanks to fill in. I would go through all of them but there’s not enough pages in a book, not enough ink in a pen so I’ll spare the details. But there are those main ones that do need to be told. And so, for the sake of no one in particular, I tell them. "

Exposition
The main thing that differentiates CMR from other books is the protagonist isn't a hero, absolutely not. Clover Sparks is a selfish, nonheroic in any way, child. But she's not unlikable. She tells jokes and such, but when it really boils down to it, she's a horrible human being. If she even is human.
The Anatomy Of One Clover Sparks
There's a lot that can be said about Clover Sparks, the protagonist of CMR. For one thing, is she really a protagonist at all?
I mean, really, what's one heroic thing has Clover Sparks done in her entire life? There was of course that one time when she saved Charlotte Night from death but that was less for heroism and more because she was afraid of being alone. Isn't that the whole reason we save people? For fear of being alone? Aren't we truly the most selfish creatures in existence? We grieve not for the loss of a person but because they are no longer there to supply us with what they were giving us before they died.
So one might say Clover Sparks is simply just an accurate representation of the entirety of man kind, hm? Although I don't give her enough credit. She really did try to be a hero. It was always her dream to be one. But dreams only last so long don't they? A quick quote from the story from "sweet" Clover before we continue on:
"I envisaged a world in which I didn’t live. A world where I was safe, where my life was happy. A world in which I wasn’t alone. Yes, only an image in my mind could be so perfect. Only something so fake could be so hoped to be real." - Clover Sparks
So Clover really does wish she wasn't such a monstrosity. But of course, wishing isn't enough to change the world. Clover Sparks is that classic case of "somehow screws up to the point of ruining the world and she needs to save it" but what sets Clover aside is the fact that she doesn't save it. She only aids in its demolition.

"Char had cold eyes, her mouth might have shown fake emotion and her voice might have as well, but her eyes held nothing but darkness and loss. I sometimes found myself wondering if they would turn grey from the amount of stone within them. But they never did, they always stayed that gold-speckled hazel that I had grown accustomed to. But still, Charlotte was beautiful. I don’t know exactly what it was about her. Maybe it was the absolute and total disregard that she carried with her? The burdens that she held on her shoulders unseen to anyone but those she held dear? The fact that if a man flirted with her she’d break his nose? I suppose there’s nothing more attractive than a girl you know you can never have. A girl that will never love you because she can’t care enough to try."

There were dried streaks of red through it, as if when his hand was covered with blood he had raked it back through his thick crow feather hair. His skin was dark, splatters of blood that wasn’t his own marking his neck and shirt. If he weren’t covered with blood and he weren’t a monster he would have been a very attractive man. His cheekbones were accented sharply and his lips were full and grey. He was lean and quick moving, every step he took sly and excited. The cornflower blue of his irises, though, was lost behind a wall of ash. There was a craziness to his eyes that his sister didn’t have. It was a sort of crazy caused by panic. Fraser Hunt knew he was trapped in a corner. I could easily kill him in a moment with the gun I held, all Fraser had was a knife. But I suppose if Fraser Hunt was going to go down, he was damn well gonna do it in style.

"Romell smirked at Fraser, a sharp upturned scowl of a sneer. He had sparkling amber eyes; bright orange curls were cut short and ruffled. His left eyebrow was split awkwardly in the middle by a swift scar and one ear was intertwined dramatically with a strange silver earring, symbols interlacing the cartilage. A long feather earring dropped from the same ear, dangling slowly. He tilted his head, smiling at Fraser, waving a pale hand. His skin was an almost sickly pale; his eyes fiery, the only color on an otherwise pale face. He had freckles but they were near translucent on his skin, only barely dotting the surface of his cheeks and nose. His lips were thin and grey, a constant sneer on his face. Fraser don’t think Romell actually meant to look as bitter as he did, it was more just how his thin face twisted."

"She wasn’t beautiful really, she wasn’t even all that attractive at all. Her skin was creamy and pale, her face masked with concealer. Her body was ordinary, no curves, no jutting hips like Char. She was simple and small, her entire demeanor lacking presence in a room. She had a round face and a squared off nose, her cheekbones hidden under blush. Her eyebrows were drawn closely together out of instinct, as if they never changed and her eyes were wide set and awkward on her face with large pupils. The chocolaty glare she obtained tried to look intimidating but it loosely resembled a chocolate lab doing an impression of a lion. Even the roar she growled was a whiny yip."

"A lab coat licked at his heels as he bounced from foot to foot in excitement. He had messy (and when I say messy, I mean messy) light brown hair. I could tell he hadn’t brushed it in at least over a week. Dark, doe eyes stared at me, alight with joy. His eyes were large on his face, giving an appearance of innocence and youth. His lips were small and soft, a pink grey color as he smiled at me with crooked teeth. His features were soft, cheekbones barely seen. Thick eyebrows raised above his eyes, lighter than his hair so they blended into his dark skin. He was a tanner fellow, and honestly kind of cute. But not exactly my type. Couldn’t say the same for him and Sage though."
- Clover Sparks (D.A.W.N)
"He wasn’t all that handsome but he was definitely nice to look at. He had thick blond hair, longer and bushier than most men I knew. It brushed over his forehead in soft bangs. Upturned eyes with long, elegant eyelashes smiled at me in a brilliant shade of royal blue. His pupils were large, giving a wide eyed appearance, shimmering in the light from the white ceiling tiles. His lips were more wide set, that grinned widely with straight white teeth hidden beneath. Tanned skin laid beneath the rolled up cuffs of his flannel shirt, obviously out in the sun usually. His presence in the room was slightly awkward as he massaged the inside of his wrist cautiously with two fingers, grinning at me."
